Introducing "Merci" - my first purebred
Irish Dexter heifer. At one day old, she was 18 inches tall and weighed 25 pounds. She is out of a first-time mom and was born unassisted. When full grown, she will be 38 inches tall and will weigh around 400 pounds. Irish Dexter's are a VERY small breed of cattle (about half the size of commercial cattle) that are used for milk, meat, and as draft animals. They are ideal low impact homestead animals for the "small" farmer. Check out the article in
