A day use accessible picnic site is locted near the parking lot. Lake access is found across County Road 777 from the campground with the trail that leads to Carberry Creek ( when the lake is full pool , the trail ends at the lake. The camping area has 5 walk-in tent sites and a parking area for self contained RV's. Hart-ish park is one of the few Forest Service parks with several acres of beautifully groomed lawn sloping down to the waters edge. From Hart-ish one can look south across the lake to the peaks of the majestic Red Butte Wilderness. The boat ramp is usable until the lake drops below 1,928 feet (above sea level) or when the facility is closed for winter.Of Interest:Nearby hiking opportunities-Applegate Lake Trail system including Da-Ku-Be-Te-De trail, Grouse Loop Trail, Colling Mtn. The campground remains open November through mid-May with no fee charged, however there is no drinking water or garbage service during htis time. Please remember to pack your drinking water in and pack your garbage out.Number of sites: 10 picnic sites, 17 tent sites and 1 wheelchair assessible site.Fee: $20.00 for group, $10.00 for single and $5.00 for day use.Settings:A unique camping expericence, these beautiful mountain lakes offer a more secluded enviornment with no vehicular access. All the campsites must be accessed by a path from a distant parking area.
